Terms of Service
Last updated 28 August 2026
These terms cover your use of MentorBuddy. They are meant to be readable rather than impressive — if something here is unclear, ask us and we will explain it.
Accepting these terms
By creating an account or using MentorBuddy you agree to these terms. If you are using MentorBuddy on behalf of an organisation, you confirm you are allowed to accept these terms for it. You need to be at least 16 years old to have an account.
What the service is
MentorBuddy gives mentors and mentees a shared place to schedule sessions, set goals, assign tasks, keep notes and record feedback. It is a tool for structuring a mentoring relationship. It is not a mentoring service in itself: we do not provide the mentoring, vet the people you work with, or take part in what you agree with them.
Your account
Sign-in works by a one-time link sent to your email, so there is no password to protect — your email inbox is the key to your account, and keeping it secure is your responsibility. Tell us at hello@mentorbuddy.app if you think someone else has got into your account.
Acceptable use
Use MentorBuddy for mentoring. Do not use it to do any of the following.
- Break the law, or help someone else break it.
- Harass, threaten, impersonate or abuse another person.
- Upload malware, or try to break, overload or probe the security of the service.
- Scrape or bulk-extract other people's data.
- Resell or white-label the service without our written agreement.
Your content
Everything you put into MentorBuddy stays yours. You give us only the permission we need to run the product: to store your content, and to show it to the mentoring partner it is shared with. Notes you mark as private stay visible only to you. You are responsible for what you upload, including having the right to share it.
Plans and payment
MentorBuddy is free to use. We do not collect payment details. If that changes, we will say so here and in the product before anyone is asked to pay.
Availability and changes
We work to keep MentorBuddy running but we do not promise a particular uptime, and the service is provided as it is. We may add, change or remove features. If we make a change that materially reduces what you get, we will give you reasonable notice by email.
Ending your use
You can stop using MentorBuddy and ask us to delete your account at any time. We may suspend or close an account that breaches these terms, or that puts the service or other users at risk — normally after warning you, and immediately where the risk is serious.
Liability
MentorBuddy is provided without warranties beyond those the law requires us to give. We are not responsible for the outcomes of your mentoring relationships or for decisions taken because of them. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, and our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing here limits liability that cannot legally be limited, including your statutory rights as a consumer.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. If a change is significant we will tell you by email or in the app before it takes effect, and the date at the top of this page will change.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of the country in which the operator of MentorBuddy is established, and by EU consumer protection law where it applies to you. The specific jurisdiction will be named here once incorporation of the operating company is complete.
